Assist is proud to be working with the following schools to help the less privileged and special children reap the benefits of basketball.

Tamana School of Hope Autism Centre

Tamana Foundation’s Autism Centre (School Of Hope) is the #1-ranked school in India for children with autism. Tamana was the first institution to start programs for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 1985. The School of Hope is India’s first rehabilitation and research centre for autistic individuals providing many holistic services under one roof—a special school, sensory integration clinic, early intervention centre, diagnostic centre, research cell, and an outreach cell. The then President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, inaugurated Tamana’s autism centre, a full-fledged school dedicated to autistic individuals, on 19 August 2003.

ASD refers to a group of complex neurodevelopmental disorders characterised by repetitive and characteristic patterns of behaviour and difficulties with social communication and interaction. The symptoms are present from early childhood and affect daily functioning.

The term “spectrum” refers to the wide range of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability in functioning that can occur in people with ASD.
